Bryan posing at 27weeks 4days

We just did a scan yesterday morning, and Bryan now weighs 1065 grams, really on track in growth. Captured above is one of the rare moments, when Bryan is snuggling up to his umbillical cord, hugging it like his bolster, or rather a neck massager, considering that the cord pulsates regularly with delivery of food and nutrients. Here you can see him frowning, with the disturbance of the ultrasound waves, almost as though hes going "stop it! you are disturbing my precious sleep". The result is a fanciful pose, almost reminding you of a model taking a photoshoot. Also, we can almost start to make out some of his prominent facial features. In about 3 weeks, we are going to do a 3d scan. Do stay posted.

Another piece of good news is that Ade has passed the glucose test, braving through three blood draws, and stomaching through a whole night of fasting. So so so.. poor dada. But well done, the last of the pre-natal tests is finally over. Now we are really anticipating the last stage, as we draw so close to the delivery date.

We were just thinking that when the malls start playing christmas music, which is usually early November, we'll know that Bryan is going to be due soon.

Jelly Hearts

Tada!!! Ade is on a roll. This one above tops the list of baking delectables churned out from the kitchen of late. A Jelly Heart. Thats what it is. It is the epitome of fusion. 3 completely different sensations delivered in taste and touch. Strawberry fruitiness and tanginess, mixed with sweet cream, and a savoury base, combined with a fusion of 3 equally compatible textures, smooth and slippery on top, wedged with fudgy creaminess and a crumbly hard base. One sink of your teeth melts all 3 sensations into a single bite. Boy, you got to taste it. This is Craving redefined, in my book. No longer should husbands cringe at the word craving, if every woman turns them into such sheer delight.

Simply divine

What you see above seems like the stuff from high-end niche pastry boutique-cake shops, but no it isn't. This comes from our very own kitchen! Cravings turned into creative strokes of inspiration. Adeline decided to bake, because she's going to wait no more for that scrambling husband of hers, running off to the car, driving out to the faraway pastry shop, and bringing back a half tossed, overturned slice of mangled cake, only to find that her craving has transformed to wan ton mee instead.

No, she whipped up her own carrot cake. And the amazing feat was done while lugging around an energetic 'flipper' inside her tummy, while poised in that seemingly undersized apron.

The result is a well proportioned, precisely timed bake mixture of ingredients forming the main body, layered over by a superbly controlled wavy swirl of cream cheese, followed by the most delicate topping of wallnut and lemon zest, and it tasted better than it looked. To me, the taste felt better than Singapore getting a silver medal at the olympics.

And a message to mummys -- GOT A CRAVING? MAKE IT YOURSELF!

26 weeks

Presenting the 4th progression of tummy growth.

We were shopping at takashimaya at the baby fair today, and bought heaps of stuff. Initially, there were thoughts of exhibiting these items on the blog, but because there was really too much, and i was wondering who on earth would take the time to read the accumulation of other people's wealth of baby paraphernalia, cos everyone's building their own heap. It would feel like "Hey check it out! my future baby's going to enjoy this. Do you have it? If you don't, then you better go get it, because it is 50% off at the fair, else it may be too late. Neh neh neh neh!" Ahahaha.. but honestly, the feeling however, was really satisfying. To have finished buying most ofthe essentials at a really good price, probably made it the best day of baby shopping we've had so far. 24 weeks already. The 3rd trimester awaits.

Face captured at 23wks3days

The upper picture shows Bryan's face, and his eyes were open at the time of ultrasound. The lower picture is the bottom view of his legs crossed at the ankles. What long slender legs!
